I think MJ had a higher peak, but LeBron gets the edge in overall career
Arguments could be made in terms of their team accomplishments.
LeBron made it to 8 straight finals, but East was weak and his path to the finals was consistently easier than MJ’s
MJ went 6/6, but he didn’t have to really play anything close to the competition LeBron did in the actual NBA finals. Utah was great but not Warriors level or anything like that. The other opponents kinda sucked. LeBron played a couple bad teams too, but again he had to face a buzz saw / generational team for a few years
To me, LeBron is the better overall player so I’d rank him as the best ever. He does more things well than MJ did IMO. If I needed a bucket in a mucky game, I go to MJ. But LeBron could elevate others the way MJ couldn’t because of his huge edge in terms of passing ability and court vision. MJ simply wasn’t as strong in that department.
There are obviously other areas where one has the edge over the other, but that for me is the biggest difference. Just my opinion
Can’t really go wrong picking either 1/2 though. Those are definitely the two best though . Love them both
